You sleep in a private Bedouin tent with two or three single beds. Bathrooms are shared. Dinner and breakfast are part of the stay. Photos and live availability are on this site.

Yes. Bring your own charger. Power is available at camp for cameras, phones, and small devices.

Pack a towel, a small spare light, and a light jacket. Desert evenings cool down even after a hot day. You do not need specialist gear for a standard overnight and jeep outing.

When the weather is mild, guests often walk near camp and sit by the fire. Winter nights are for rest and stars more than long walks.

Local Bedouin drivers run the Wadi Rum jeep route. English is usually limited. There is no licensed tour-guide add-on in the desert. The driver moves you between viewpoints and gives time to walk a canyon, climb a soft sand dune, or step onto a natural rock arch.

Most departures are just your own group. If the camp is full, the driver may handle other camp duties and meet you again after the jeep loop the next day.

Yes, in short walks between jeep stops. This is not a multi-day trek unless you arrange that separately. The standard outing mixes driving and easy walking.

In winter it is a poor fit. Amman to Petra is about three hours. Petra itself needs at least four hours. Petra to Wadi Rum is about two hours, and a jeep loop needs about two more. Winter sunset is around 16:30, so a dawn start from Amman still leaves no real desert time. We normally split this across two days and sleep at Desert Moon Camp. Long summer light (sunset near 19:00) makes a same-day combo more realistic.

March through May and September through November are the most comfortable. June to August is very hot. December to February can be cold, especially after sunset at camp.

Walking is the default. Optional rides, when you want them:

• Horse from the visitor centre to the start of the Siq (about 600 m; a tip of around 5 JOD is customary).
• Carriage from the visitor centre to the Treasury (about 2 km; around 25 JOD for two people, often including the return).
• Horse or camel from the Treasury toward the Monastery approach (about 2.5 km; around 15 JOD per person).
• Donkey on the Monastery steps (about 800 steps; around 10 JOD per person).

Rates move with the season and are negotiable on site.

A one-traveller Petra day from Amman is about 160 USD before entry tickets and a licensed guide. A Petra plus Wadi Rum overnight for one traveller, with dinner, breakfast, and a two-hour jeep loop, is about 499 USD on the same basis. Prices drop when more people share the vehicle. A fully escorted licensed-guide trip costs more.

The Jordan Pass is an official online ticket. At about 99 USD per person, with a stay of at least three nights, it typically covers the visa fee and entry to dozens of sites, including Petra and Wadi Rum. Confirm current rules on jordanpass.jo before you fly.

Tourists are not asked to fast. Sites and museums stay open, sometimes with earlier closing so staff can break the fast. Some restaurants in tourist areas serve daytime meals. Eating, drinking, and smoking in public during daylight is best kept discreet out of respect. After sunset, shared meals are a large part of the month.
